This weeks kudos goes out to Marian J of the Audubon Library in Amherst, new york. Marian took the time to investigate an issue i was having in my research. She was patient and diligent in working through the labyrinth of information i gave her. She narrowed down the puzzle enough for me to continue my research with a more fulfilling out come. Some information on this web site takes time to investigate and make sure what i put on the pages is correct. Marian was an extreme help and put in considerable time and effort to make sure i was getting the correct music cd for my review. Thank you so much!!!!
Having said all that, why are we reducing the budget for the buffalo & Erie county public libraries? The information highway should be available to everyone rich or poor. Tonawanda, new york only has one library left and it is located in the City of Tonawanda. The hours are extremely limited. Tonawanda also has Brighton Place which does charge a small yearly membership fee. An area that really needs the library system is in Sheridan Parkside. The average income is lower and the advantages are restricted. The original library building has since been torn down. They moved everything into the old Parkside school now called the community building. I patron-ed that library often and although it was small the librarians made it feel overflowing with information. The county took that away from a low income area.
So let your politicians know that everyone has a right to knowledge. Lets get this budget resolved so the librarians can keep their working hours.
