UNFORGETTABLE
SEPTEMBER 20, 2011-PRESENT
Former New York City police detective Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery) has a rare medical condition which allows her to remember everything in vivid detail.
Carrie finds herself awakened by screams in the wee hours of the morning and she runs out of her apartment only to find a dead body on the sidewalk. Another neighbor arrives and quickly heads back inside to call the police while she scans the area, absorbing as much information as she can just by looking in all directions.
As the police officials arrive, Carrie gives her statement but in the distance she sees a familiar face she would much rather avoid. Making her way back into the security of her apartment, she begins to get ready for work where she is employed at a senior citizens home. There is a knock at the door and reluctantly she opens it, almost sensing a change on the other side.
Al Burns (Dylan Walsh) is surprised to see Carrie but she had already caught a glimpse of him arriving at the scene of the crime. He is her ex-partner and former boyfriend but her inability to let the murder of her sister come between them forced them to go their separate ways. Her sister was very young when she was killed and although Carrie was there and has a photographic memory, she cannot recall much about her death.
Quickly drawn back into the field of investigation, she contemplates joining Al's squad which includes Detective Mike Costella (Michael Gaston), his right-hand man Detective Nina Inara (Daya Vaidya) who is a street smart cop, and Detective Roe Saunders (Kevin Rankin) who is the baby of the bunch and has a lot to learn about working an investigation.
The show has moments where you feel like they filmed many more scenes but had to cut it down due to time constraints. Overall, Montgomery and Walsh can carry this show and if the writing gets a little tighter it could have a great future on CBS. NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles are great lead-ins for "Unforgettable", even if they are not shows that RUSTYSCAGE.COM follows. So the potential is there for the show to be a success with time and patience.
