BEADY EYE
DIFFERENT GEAR STILL SPEEDING
FEBRUARY 28, 2011

Staying in the musical style of OASIS, Liam Gallagher continues with the newly formed BEADY EYE.  Gem Archer (rhythm guitar), Andy Bell (guitar) and Chris Sharrock (drums), some of the remaining members of OASIS decided to go with Liam as part of BEADY EYE.  Liam definitely created the foundation of OASIS and the sound is evident throughout this release.

"Four letter Word" starts off this release and seems to be aimed at Liam's brother, Noel Gallagher, with lyrical content such as: "I don't know what it is I'm feeling/a four letter word really gets my meaning/Nothing ever last forever."  Noel is set to release his debut cd with new band NOEL GALLAGHER'S HIGH FLYING BIRDS later this year and could contain some rebutle lyrics.  "Bring the Light" was released as a free download in November 2010 and is a solid hearty song with girth as the piano pumps away.  The drums are a throbbing workout track that could make every sweat the oldies away.

Overall this is a great rock release that, if spun in a shuffle, will definitely cause the listener to turn up the volume on almost every track.  Since THE BEATLES can never release another track as a complete band, we have Liam & company to fill that void with new material.  His vocals along with most of the drums are in the category of THE BEATLES influenced music.

"Kill for a Dream" has a wonderful acoustic beginning and the song has a touch of so many mellow rock songs released in the past decade.  Having said this, it still sits on its own merits and will likely give the band a breather when played live.

"Standing on the edge of the Noise" is Rock "N" Roll brought to life.  Another heart pumping, aerobic-driven track that gives music listeners hope that true Rock is still alive and kicking.  "The Morning Son" is the least favorable track and sadly is the way the CD comes to a close.
